Why ADD is on the rise

I saw a video on www.medsocial.com that inspired me to write this. It has been reported that the number of children with ADHD has been increasing steadily for quite sometime now. I find it interesting that it did become well known as soon as medicine business became the money maker that it is today. I do not dispute that some children may actually have this disorder but I find it hard to believe that there are really this many out there that do.
I personally believe that it is something to do with the business of medicine and the fact that parents just do not have the time to be with their children like they used to. In order for people to survive with children, a two income family is needed. Thus, there is not as much time for parents to spend with their children. With this lack of time facing parents, they do whatever they can to try and calm their kids down, not knowing any medical info about the drug or their own children's health information.
This is where children must fend for themselves, which means watching television and eating unhealthy. Children have no idea what their own health info is and thus no way to properly feond for themselves. But these two equations together, it is no wonder that children have extra energy all the time. They do not get very much exercise and they most likely eat a lot of sugar. This is the perfect equation for a child having the symptoms of ADHD. Then with the knowledge that parents do not have very much time to fix this problem, they take advantage of this.
